My block shirt.

I now only use one pattern for shirts I wear, I vary collars, add front yokes, etc.

The pattern I use is a 1979 Simplicity pattern 8711.

It’s a coincidence that it’s for ‘tall men’ but perfect for me, I didn’t have to add length to the body or sleeves.
I’ve made a variety of collars and also cut patterns pieces for interfacing
The pattern had an attached front placket but I made an alternative separate one.

If I want a different coloured or bias placket I can use the separate style.

The original collar was high with long peaks, 1970s style but I prefer a lower collar, the original height is on the right, I lowered it by 1 cm as seen on the left. It’s much more comfortable.
