Butterflies.

I’ve been trying to make a butterfly block, but there have been a few hassles along the way.

The background was going to be alternate black and white squares, but the black I used wasn’t cotton – I thought I would get away with using it but came a cropper!

The black fabric shrinks when ironed.

It shrinks by about a quarter inch and wrinkles the butterflies, so they were all undone and the background changed to match the rest. (Memo; stick to the appropriate fabric).

They are a bit insipid on the lighter background.

But this will be it, it’s supposed to be a pleasure and changing the backgrounds wasn’t.
Still, it’s just an idea and I sort of like it.

I also made a Lemoyne star, but there are a lot of tutorials around and many different ways of making them, someday, I’ll try the Y-seam method, I’ve never done one yet.
To make the star different, I turned the centre around and made a windmill – this has probably been done thousands of times as well, stars are very popular indeed.

Also fiddling with whatever this is called… “V” Block? Maybe.

Back to the butterflies.

Take care as always,
