A new iron.

Two new irons. I bought one, it was expensive, I don’t know why, an iron is just an iron, and expensive or cheap, they do the same job.
This iron is flashy, but has a drawback, the heat needs to be set every time it’s turned on, I always (nearly always) use the cotton setting, but a button needs to be pressed three times to cycle through the heats until it gets to hot, and it’s slow to reach the heat.

There doesn’t seem to be anything ‘digital’ about it, but it looks glamorous and will grace the ironing board.

I also received an iron for my birthday, it’s a cordless, I’ve had three of these over the years and they are convenient, the one before this was bad, the base was too light and when I picked up the iron, the base came too and then fell on the floor – plus it leaked, so that went back.
This new one was in the Post Office, not over-expensive, but works well, the base is heavy and stays behind when the iron is picked up, it heats quickly AND is on the heat I need.

It’s a nice-looking iron, as far as ironic looks go. It locks or unlocks and will sit up when it’s off the cradle.
The conclusion is that a cordless iron makes the whole job easier, it just takes a little time to get used to lifting it on and off the cradle.

Back to sewing,
Take care,
