I’ve been trying to make diamond rectangles with an ordinary ruler and have almost made it, Deb Tucker has a special ruler to make these, but I just wanted to see if I could make it without and it’s so difficult, maths isn’t my strong point (possibly my weakest).
I’ve searched YouTube and elsewhere and only found diamond rects made with half square retcangles – nothing wrong with them, but not the same. They come SO close to being right, just a little too long or wide.
These are the attempts so far:

The one on top, with the green, mottled background is the closest, perfect at 4.5″ long, but it’s a quarter inch too wide.
It’s such a nice-looking block, I made ‘Storm at Sea’ about 15 years ago, but don’t remember how.

right width, just a little too short.

Solving the Enigma code would have been easier than this.
Maybe tomorrow…
