A cute little block, I have tried to find its history, but there isn’t any information available, except to say that it’s a traditional block. It’s also known as Monkey Wrench.
It is a two-colour block, and it starts with four small squares. In this case, we are making a 4.5″ component. The squares are 1.5″ in the two colours, two of each.

All the rest are squares, cut diagonally.




Trim to 4.5″, making sure that the 1/4″ seam allowance remains.




That’s it. On to the next big thing!
